NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, Phoenix Suns Open Homestand versus Seattle SuperSonics
(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Suns will open a four-game homestand when they welcome the Seattle SuperSonics tonight to US Airways Center.
The Pacific Division-leading Suns have won three in a row as the host and are 9-3 at home this season.
They have won three in a row overall, including Sunday's 117-102 triumph over the Sacramento Kings at ARCO Arena.
Amare Stoudemire scored 31 points and had 17 rebounds, leading six Phoenix players in double figures. Shawn Marion added 25 points and Leandro Barbosa scored 22 off the bench for Phoenix, which has won four of its last five games.
Steve Nash had a double-double with 12 points and 15 assists.
Grant Hill tallied 12 points and Raja Bell added 11 in the victory.
Phoenix will also host New Orleans, Denver and Indiana on the homestand.
Meanwhile, the Sonics enter Thursday's game having lost three of four and five of the last seven games.
They will open a four-game road trip tonight against Phoenix, Washington, Cleveland and New Jersey.
Seattle, which has dropped two in a row on the road and is 4-11 away from the Emerald City in 2007-08, suffered a 98-90 setback to the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday at KeyArena.
Earl Watson scored 18 points and had seven assists for Seattle, which played without leading scorer and rookie Kevin Durant, who sat out with a sprained left index finger.
Nick Collison finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Jeff Green chipped in 16 points.
Durant is questionable tonight for the Sonics, while forward Chris Wilcox is doubtful for Thursday's game with a left knee injury.
Phoenix recorded a 106-99 victory over Seattle on November 1 this season at KeyArena, and has won six of nine and eight of the last 12 meetings.
The Sonics have lost two straight and three of the last four at Phoenix.
