NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, Struggling Indiana Pacers host Atlanta Hawks
(Sports Network) - The Indiana Pacers will try to stop a five-game losing streak when they close out a brief two-game homestand versus the Atlanta Hawks tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Indiana suffered its fifth straight loss with a 90-72 setback to the Memphis Grizzlies in the opener of the stand on Wednesday.
Mike Dunleavy scored 16 points, while Troy Murphy had 10 points and 15 rebounds for Indiana, which is 7-9 at home this season.
The Pacers again played without guard Jamaal Tinsley, who is out with a hamstring injury. He is expected to miss at least a week of action.
Meanwhile, the Hawks will close out a three-game road trip tonight and have lost the first two installments of the trek.
In Wednesday's 98-94 setback to the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena, Joe Johnson scored 24 points and Josh Smith added 20 points and eight rebounds for the Hawks, who have lost two in a row after winning five straight.
Atlanta is 5-8 away from Philips Arena this season.
Friday's matchup between the Hawks and Pacers is the second of three meetings this season. Indiana is slated to host Atlanta on April 8.
The Hawks recorded a 107-95 home win against Indiana on December 26 this season and have won six of the last nine meetings.
Atlanta has lost two straight after winning its last two at Indiana.
