NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, New Orleans Hornets resume trek at Golden State Warriors
(Sports Network) - The New Orleans Hornets play the middle contest of a three- game road trip when they visit the Golden State Warriors tonight at ORACLE Arena.
This is the first meeting of the campaign between the clubs.
The Warriors have won three in a row over the Hornets. The Hornets have lost two straight and five of their last six at Golden State.
New Orleans tries to win back-to-back games this evening. David West scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, as the Hornets knocked off the Los Angeles Clippers, 95-81, on Wednesday at the Staples Center.
Chris Paul finished with 16 points and 13 assists, while Peja Stojakovic collected 16 points for New Orleans, which has won six of its last seven games overall.
Tyson Chandler posted 14 points and 15 rebounds in the victory.
The Hornets, who have won four in a row as the visitor, will visit the Phoenix Suns on Saturday at US Airways Center.
They are 9-6 on the road this season.
Golden State tries to get back on the winning track against the Hornets. Reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Dallas Mavericks over the Warriors, 121-99, at American Airlines Center.
Stephen Jackson led Golden State with 25 points, while Al Harrington added 21 and six rebounds in the loss for the Warriors, who had a two-game winning streak halted.
The Warriors are 8-6 at home this season.
Golden State is scheduled to host the San Antonio Spurs on Monday at ORACLE Arena.
