NHL Hockey Preview, The Sports Network, Philadelphia Flyers aim to end losing streak in New Jersey against the New Jersey Devils

(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers will try to extend their winning streak to four games tonight, but will have to do so on the road against the New Jersey Devils, a team they haven't much success against in recent years.
New Jersey has won five of six and 13 of the last 15 tests against the Flyers and Philadelphia hasn't won in the Garden State since March 9, 2004.
The Flyers have lost 10 straight road games to the Devils and are 0-2 in their first two trips to the Prudential Center, which Jersey opened earlier this season.
The Devils have won three of four meetings against the Flyers this season.
Philadelphia has won three in a row and has notched back-to-back wins to kick off a six-game road trip.
The furthest stops on the swing came with tests in Florida and Tampa Bay and after tonight the Flyers will visit Toronto, Atlanta and the New York Rangers.
The Flyers are 11-9-0 as the visiting club this season.
After beating the Lightning 4-2 on Saturday, the Flyers notched a shutout victory over the Panthers the following day.
Antero Niittymaki posted his first shutout in nearly two years, and Derian Hatcher scored the only goal as Philly edged Florida, 1-0, at BankAtlantic Center.
Niittymaki turned aside all 38 shots he faced, earning just his third career shutout and first since January 2, 2006.
Hatcher registered his first goal in more than a month for the Flyers, who have won three straight games for the first time since a five-game streak from October 10-20.
Flyers winger Simon Gagne will miss his 23rd consecutive game with a concussion tonight, but the sniper could be ready to return as early as next week.
Gagne has scored 40-plus goals in each of his last two seasons and has four tallies and four helpers in 10 games this year.
As for the Devils, they had a three-game winning streak halted Saturday against the New York Islanders, but rebounded with Wednesday's triumph over visiting Florida.
Jamie Langenbrunner posted a goal and an assist, as New Jersey edged the Panthers, 3-2, at the Prudential Center.
Noah Clarke and Brian Gionta also scored for the Devils, while Martin Brodeur made 31 saves to earn the win.
The Devils are 11-5-0 at their new building this season and have won three straight and eight of nine on home ice.
