NHL Hockey Preview, The Sports Network, Florida Panthers Kicks Off Road Trip with Stop in New Jersey Against the New Jersey Devils

(Sports Network) - The Florida Panthers will begin a three-game road trip with their first-ever stop at the Prudential Center, as they visit the New Jersey Devils for tonight's contest.
After tonight's tilt in Newark, the Panthers will head to New York to face the Islanders on Thursday and then visit Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Florida is 9-9-1 away from home this year, but has won three straight and four of its last five road games.
The Panthers last played Sunday against visiting Philadelphia and were handed a shutout loss as Antero Niittymaki stopped 38 shots and Derian Hatcher scored the only goal in the Flyers' 1-0 win.
Tomas Vokoun made 19 saves for Florida, which has lost three of its last four games.
The Panthers were also blanked at home for the first time since February 3 of last season, against Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, the Devils had a three-game winning streak halted last Saturday, as they dropped a road game to the New York Islanders.
Andy Sutton scored the deciding goal as the Islanders continued their season-long domination over the Devils with a 5-2 victory at Nassau Coliseum.
It was New York's fourth straight victory over New Jersey this season, and the Isles have outscored the Devils 11-6 in that span.
Zach Parise and John Madden each scored, and Martin Brodeur turned aside 28 shots for the Devils.
Parise has been New Jersey's main offensive weapon this season, as the 23- year-old winger is first on the team in goals (16) and points (37).
New Jersey is 10-5-0 at the Prudential Center, which opened earlier this season.
The Devils, who have won seven of their last eight tests in Newark, will wrap up a brief two-game homestand with Friday's test against Philadelphia.Florida and the Devils have split two meetings this year, but Jersey has taken four of six and 10 of the last 13 encounters between
the clubs.
The Panthers had lost their last five games at the Devils' previous building, which is now known as the Izod Center.
