NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, Sacramento Kings Take on New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden

(Sports Network) - A pair of struggling clubs meet tonight, as the New York Knicks welcome the Sacramento Kings to historic Madison Square Garden.
This is the second and final meeting of the campaign between the squads.
On November 16th, Kevin Martin scored 43 points, which included several clutch shots in the second overtime, to help the Kings beat the New York Knicks, 123-118, at ARCO Arena.
Martin is currently sidelined with a strained right groin.
The Western Carolina product last played on December 4th against Utah, and is averaging 24.5 points in 17 games for Sacramento this season. Sacramento has won three of its last four contests against the Knicks.
The Kings have lost eight of 10 and 21 of their last 24 at New York.The Kings have dropped four in a row and play the first of a three-game road trip. On Sunday, Amare Stoudemire scored 31 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns over the Sacramento Kings, 117-102, at ARCO Arena.
Francisco Garcia ended with a team-high 30 points for Sacramento, which finished 0-4 on a four-game homestand.
Mikki Moore added 20 points and 12 rebounds, while John Salmons collected 23 points and seven rebounds in defeat.
Sacramento, which has won two in a row as the visitor, is 3-10 on the road this season.
The Kings are scheduled to visit Cleveland on Friday at Quicken Loans Arena and Chicago on Saturday at the United Center.
On the injury front for Sacramento, forward Ron Artest (bone chips in right elbow) is doubtful.
Prior to Sunday's game reports surfaced that Artest could face surgery this week to remove the chipped bone fragments in his elbow.
New York, which concludes a two-game road trip, has also lost four straight games.
Ben Gordon finished with 25 points off the bench as the Bulls routed the short-handed Knicks, 100-83, at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks were without starting guards Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury in the game. Crawford was sidelined with a bruised hand, while Marbury returned to the team but wasn't in uniform.
Marbury has missed nine of the Knicks' last 13 games following the death of his father on December 2nd. Crawford and Marbury are both questionable for tonight's contest.
Zach Randolph ended with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the recent win for the Knicks, who have lost 10 of their last 12 contests. Nate Robinson finished with 19 points in his first start of the season and Quentin Richardson registered 13 points in the loss.New York, which has dropped two straight at Madison Square Garden, is 7-10 at home this season.
After tonight's contest, the Knicks will embark on a three- game road trip at San Antonio, Houston and Chicago.
