NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, Atlanta Hawks Continue Road Trip in Cleveland Against the Cleveland Cavaliers
(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks will try and get back on the winning track when they resume a three-game road trip tonight against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.
Atlanta had its five-game winning streak stopped after Saturday's 97-84 loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the opener of the trek at American Airlines Center.
Marvin Williams had 18 points to lead the Hawks, whose five-game run was the longest since November 27 - December 8, 1999.
Josh Smith had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Acie Law scored 12 points off the bench in defeat.
Atlanta will also visit Indiana and is 5-7 away from Philips Arena this season.
On the injury front for the Hawks, guards Tyronn Lue (calf) and Salim Stoudamire (ankle) are both questionable for Wednesday's game.
Cleveland had a two-game winning streak halted with Saturday's 86-76 setback to the Hornets at New Orleans Arena.
James had 21 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas tallied 14 points and 12 boards for the Cavs, who ended the month of December with a weak 5-11 record.
The Cavs will also host Sacramento on the homestand and are 8-6 at Quicken Loans Arena this season.Wednesday's matchup between Atlanta and Cleveland is the first of three this season. The Cavs will visit the Hawks on January 9 and February 8 at Philips Arena.Cleveland went 3-1 against the Hawks last season and have won three straight, five of six and 12 of the last 14 encounters.
Atlanta has lost six of eight and seven of its last 11 at Cleveland.
