NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, Portland Trail Blazers Try to Rebound at Minnesota Against the Minnesota Timberwolves
(Sports Network) - The Portland Trail Blazers attempt to get back on the winning track when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Target Center.
The Trail Blazers play the middle contest of a three-game road trip on Wednesday.
Carlos Boozer paced a balanced attack with 19 points as the Jazz halted Portland's 13-game winning streak with a 111-101 victory on Monday at EnergySolutions Arena.
The winning streak was the second-longest in Trail Blazers history, coming up just shy of a franchise-best 16-game run by the 1990-91 squad.LaMarcus Aldridge ended with a career-high 36 points for the Trail Blazers, who lost for the first time since a 100-79 setback to the
San Antonio Spurs on December 2.
Brandon Roy finished with 17 points, while James Jones netted 15 off the bench.Portland is 3-10 as the visitor this season.
The Trail Blazers will visit the Chicago Bulls on Thursday at the United Center.Minnesota tries to put the brakes on a five-game losing streak, as it opens a four-game homestand this evening. Cuttino Mobley scored 18 points off the bench, including 10 in the fourth quarter, as the Clippers outlasted the Timberwolves, 91-82, on Monday at the Staples Center.
Al Jefferson poured in 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for Minnesota, which has dropped 11 of its last 12 games overall and fell to a dismal 1-16 on the road this season, including 12 straight losses.
Ryan Gomes finished with 17 points and Craig Smith ended with 14 in defeat.
The Timberwolves are 3-10 at home this season.
They will also host Denver, Dallas and Miami on the current homestand.
