NBA Basketball Preview, The Sports Network, Yao, Houston Rockets visit Orlando Magic
(Sports Network) - The Southeast Division-leading Orlando Magic will try to get back on the winning track when they wrap up a short two-game homestand versus the Houston Rockets tonight at Amway Arena.
Orlando had its four-game winning streak come to an end with Wednesday's 96-95 loss to the New Jersey Nets in the opener of the stand.
Hedo Turkoglu poured in a game-best 23 points and Carlos Arroyo had 16 points and seven assists for the Magic, who are 7-7 at home this season.
Dwight Howard posted his 15th straight double-double with 13 points and 13 boards in a winning effort.
The Rockets will conclude a brief two-game road trip this evening and are 8-11 away from the Toyota Center this season.
They have lost two straight overall and eight of the last 12 games, including Wednesday's 97-93 setback at Boston in the opener of the trek.
Bonzi Wells had 25 points coming off the bench for the Rockets, while Yao Ming finished with 19 points and 13 boards in defeat.
Houston is still without star guard Tracy McGrady, who is out indefinitely with a left knee problem.
Orlando posted a 97-92 win over the Rockets on December 19 this season at the Toyota Center, but Houston has won three of four and nine of the last 11 matchups in the series.
Houston has won five straight after losing its last 10 at Orlando.
